This public house has been part of the community for over 130 years.

It was here long before many of houses that surround it.

It is one of the best kept secrets of winchester.

A real locals pub for real locals.

It has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere upon entry.

Inside there is a feel of victoriana with many prints of that period.

The décor compliments this feel and an image of what pubs where like 40/50 years ago comes to mind.

There is even an outside gents toilet, which is very post-war and quite querky in this day and age.

A good selection of beers, wines and spririts are available with some fine real ales.

There is a bar billiards table, (the only one left in winchester) and also a dart board where three teams play their home matches.

The jukebox carries a wide selection of music to cater for all tastes.

Also available to customers are some national and local newspapers which can be read while enjoying their beverage.

A small bookcase completes the package with material such as travel time tables, local histories, maps, encylopidia and dicionary, should customers need help with the crossword.

Each wednesday there is a general knoweledge quiz starts 8:30pm

Also there is live music twice a month on a Sunday starts 8:15pm free entry

Plus a pop quiz once a month on a sunday starts 8:15pm
