I Have been to the Percy Hobbs many times when i lived in Winchester and found the food really nice and the atmosphere inviting. However, to my dismay, i went back to my favourite pub while visiting family. My husband and i were seated near the kitcken and i was disgusted in the language that, i can only presume, came from the owner, that came from the kitchen. I have never heard someone swear to that extent and was so unhappy that i decided i couldn't enjoy my meal and left. I then went back a few months later for a meeting, and the content of the food was appaling, The bread was stale, the cheese had no flavour and the salami looked like it had been sitting out for a week! Once again, i was upset to find such a happy and lively pub to be run by people who obviously have no idea what they are doing and are incapable of providing good food!!
